There are many online job hunting sites that have hundreds of thousands of jobs listed for you to search through. They have jobs for everyone too - white collar, blue collar or no collar, you'll be sure to find what you are looking for.
There's even an online site that you can visit while hunting for a job that specializes in freelance work where you can work from the comfort of your own home. They have work at home jobs for writers and editors, web designer, internet research, data entry, graphic design and even some unusual ones like writing to discussion boards and administering a web business from home.

If you prefer hunting for a job that is outside the home, you can find jobs in any area of the US and in any field. Even contract and temporary positions are listed. A brief search that I did revealed jobs in Engineering, restaurant management, sales, medical, drivers, executive assistants, customer service, forklift operators, real estate associate, law enforcement, finance, payroll, construction, aviation, machine operator and receptionist to name but a few - all different shifts and some even listed a sign on bonus!
Before you start hunting for a job, you should probably update your resume. When I was responsible for hiring people, I found that the best resumes were those that were in a neat format, in chronological order and were brief but gave enough information to peak my interest. I don't think it's necessary to include several paragraphs on a job that you did 20 years ago and a resume that is kept to 1 or 2 pages is best - at least in my opinion!
