Here's some job hunting tips that might help you land that perfect job! Although looking for a job can be an overwhelming task and may seem stressful if you are currently unemployed, you can make it easier if you keep organized and present professional materials
One important job hunting tip is to make sure you have a good resume. When I was responsible for hiring people, I found that the best resumes were those that were in a neat format, in chronological order and were brief but gave enough information to peak my interest.

I don't think it's necessary to include several paragraphs on a job that you did 20 years ago and a resume that is kept to 1 or 2 pages is best.
I do think it is a good idea to include a cover letter, but don't rehash everything in your resume on the cover letter just provide a brief introduction, list why you want to work there and your career goals.
One of the often overlooked job hunting tips is to use networking to your advantage. Let your friends, family and especially associates in clubs know that you are looking and what kind of job you are looking for. Someone might know of an opening and there's nothing like a referral from an inside employee.
Other places to look for work include online job hunting sites the local newspaper, your state employment office and depending on the type of job that you are looking for you can hook up with a professional recruiter who has a listing of jobs in your field and gets paid by the employer if you get hired.
When you do get an interview, do some research on the company so you can ask intelligent questions about their products and services. This will go a long way to making it seem like you are really interested in working at the company and not just looking for a way to pay the bills. It may set you apart from other candidates. Another job hunting tip that may set you apart is to send a follow up letter thanking them for the interview and letting them know how you feel your skills will fit with their needs.
Being organized is another one of those job hunting tips that seems to be overlooked. It is important to keep all the interviews and jobs you have been interested straight otherwise you might overlook an offer you are interested in! You should keep a notebook or at least a checklist listing every job, date of interview, whom you talked to and jot down some of your impressions. It's also a good idea to get any company brochures or insurance booklets so you can compare insurance plans and benefits.
