Sending moving email announcements can be a quick way to notify friends, family and business associates of your change of address.

Of course, you can’t use this for everyone on your list but you can get a lot of people done with the press of a button. Simply draft up an announcement, think up the list of addressees and then send the email to multiple recipients - it’s that easy!
Moving email announcements should only be used for people that you know check their email frequently. You wouldn’t send one to Aunt Ethyl if she only checks email once every 6 months as you might risk having this years fruit cake send to your old address!

You probably wouldn’t want to rely on this method for notifying your credit card companies, utilities or other places that wouldn’t have a system for processing the email - those places are probably best done with a phone call to insure you still get your bills on time.
But, for friends and family that do frequently use email this can be a great way to let them know your new phone number and address.
How to write a moving email announcement
First off, gather all the email addresses of those people you want to send the announcement to. Go through your mail’s address book or old emails and make a new “group” or list of recipients from the addresses you want to use.
Draft your moving email announcement in a word processing program like Microsoft word. I find that it is easier to see the format and check the spelling if I do it this way. You want to be brief but include all the necessary information such as:
Moving date (maybe you can ask them to let a hand and kill 2 birds with 1 stone!)
New address - feel free to include directions here so they can come and visit!
New phone number
Once you have completed this, compose an email and paste the text into the body. For the subject, type in something that will catch their eye so they don’t delete it by mistake. A simple “We’re Moving!”could work. Now enter the email address of the desired recipients, press the send key and your moving email announcement will be sent out!
