Using Pods Moving and Storage
Pods moving and storage can take a lot of the stress out of moving.

These Portable on Demand Storage Units are like big trailers or crates that get delivered to your house and let you pack your stuff at your leisure. The crate sits in your driveway until you are ready to move.
Even better than a truck, the pods moving container sits at ground level so you don't have to climb up and down to get stuff into it. Once it is full, you can have the container removed and moved to your new home whether that be local or across the country.

At the new home, you can unpack it at your leisure and they'll come and take it away when you are done! It's less costly than a full service mover since you are doing most of the work yourself, yet it eliminates the need to rent a drive a truck. This can be especially convenient for long distance moves where you also have to take your car along - with Pods moving, you can just fill up the pod and let them deliver it while you drive in the comfort of your own car.
If you need to store stuff between moves, pods storage facilities will hold your crate in dry storage until you are ready for it and then deliver it straight to you. The containers come in 12' or 16', the larger of which holds the approximate contents of a 1500 square foot home. If you need more, of course you can simply order a second Pods moving container.
The pods moving containers are sturdy and weather resistant. The steel framed marine grade wood interiors are clean inside to keep your possessions from getting dirty and are weather resistant with the ability to withstand winds of up to 110 miles per hour.
While not as cheap as simply renting a uhaul, the Pods moving containers seem to be a good alternative when planning a long distance move. I did a brief calculation on how much it would cost to move from NH to FL with 1 pod full of stuff and it was in between $2000 and $3000 which is not too bad compared to a full service mover. The pod storage was pretty reasonable too - not much more than renting a regular storage unit per month.
